Electrical Problems
06/02/09 at 09:40:06

I have a 2002 Savage.  It has 7K on it. I`ve put 5K on it myself. I`ve never had any problems with it. I rode it to work yesterday. On the way, I stopped at a friends. When I started to leave, nothing. Lights wouldn`t come on when I switched her on. Nothing.
We pushed her off and I went on to work. That night, I went out and turn the key on and the neutral light and headlight would just barely come on.
I brought it home on a trailer and have been working on it since. I`ve checked the fuses and I`ve checked the battery. Everything is fine. I cleaned the battery connections, checked the voltage.
WHERE DO I GO FROM HERE. I HAVE NO CLUE. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!
Any suggestions will be appreciated. G Harper  Huh

Pull the tank & check the plug under there. Check all plugs.

Check voltage with contact and lights on, to put some load on the battery. That should tell a tale: either the battery is dead or a you have a massive voltage drop over a corroded or loose connector or fuse.

Oh!  Embarrassed sorry. Dead battery cell is my bet then. Or shorted cell. Gives 13.7 without load, drops low on load.

It is the battery. I just jumped it from my truck and she fired off like a charm. Thanks all.
