Works GREAT.  Highly recommended.  I cut the gel wider to wrap around the sides of the original pad for more butt width and cut the covering foam larger than that.  You might need to plan for time to allow the original seat pad to dry if it is wet from the baggie leaking.

By the way, the leftover 1/8" foam padding makes great insoles for your shoes & boots.  I cut it to size and put it under the wimpy factory insole.
