Hey... Demin!  Where'd you hide yer s**t box?  Nice an clean, but I can't see yours...

Do you have to sandblast the frame prior to painting?  Any less skilled (ie EASY) procedure?

Hope to see another bobber in the making SavageSoldier...

Which box you talkin' about? The regulator? It's between the frame rails, just under the seat.
Sandblasting is about the easiest, but you could just hand sand it.I'm working on my other bobber project now,and I'm sandblasting it.

Demin,
Two questions. What lenglth are the struts you added to make it a rigid? And, where did you get the springer seat.

Also to anyone who has done a springer seat. Where do you get them? I did look through the sticky in the marketplace but did not see a link to a place that carried that kind of seat. I am concidering the rigid conversion but will deffinatly need one of those.

Thanks in advance

1)The struts are 9.5 on center.
2)The seat I got from a place called Bates,in Dallas about 35 bucks. They are usually on ebay too.Complete setup for the seat will run about 60-70 bucks, like mine.

On the purple one ?
they are 14" apes.Any aftermarket Harley shop will have them,or get them.Risers are stock for buckhorn bars.Cables came from Motion-Pro(custom made)I think LANCER on here makes/gets them.8" over stock length.Probably could have gone a little shorter though. The brake hose, banjos also available any aftermarket dealer.
The '87 I'm building now?
Drag bars on buckhorn risers, with Sportster tank, stock cables.
I just moved back from Dallas/Frisco Tx.Then my Avatar said Youngstown, til I broke up with my girl. Now I'm in Warren.Been in your neck of the woods many of times, used to go to the swapmeet there all the time.

How hard is the rigid ride? I bet is pretty hard on the buns.

The CDi S**t box!  Your wiring and parts placement is very nicely done!

With the spring seat it's not bad at all.

On the purple one,it's in the stock location.
The one I'm building now,it's going on the bottom of the rear fender, below the selonoid.

Accufast2D (ebay store)....is selling curved license plate/taillight plates for about 30.00.  Super thick and ready to paint.
Scootmods (store name again...lol) is selling custom hardtail struts that are 9.5 center to center  3/4" thick aircraft grade 6061 aluminum plate, in some pretty sweet designs. Just have to sleeve it  'cause hole is a little big
Occasionally , DemonsCycle (its a .com)has some nice stuff on closeout (seat hardware, etc.)  Got my stretched bullet headlight from them for 40.00 and free ship....lol
Have fun with it.  Cool
