just wondering....

how long u have to let the bike warm up before u can ride. because this is the 2nd time in a row that she feels "studdery" only within the first minute of riding. i first thought it was the water, maybe the belt was wet or something. but am i not letting it warm up enough? i usually put my gloves on and sit on her, probably about 30 seconds total. what's recommended?

and i cleaned her 2day(nevrdull is amazing!) and i must've loosened the left mirror cuz i started going and it turned and all i saw was myself. people must've thought i was conceded!! haha threw a pair of pliers in the tool bag for next time!!

30 seconds for a cold LS650 is too short, even in the summer.  When the left side cooling fins on the head are pretty warm to the touch then my engine is about ready.  Probably about 3-4 minutes.  The 900 ft gravel driveway, ridden mostly in 1st and 2nd gear, finishes the warm up for me before hitting the road.

I never have to choke to get started unless temperatures are in 20 degree range.  I always start rolling with a stuttering cold motor that warms up to reliable useable power by the time I get to the end of my neighborhood.

In the heart of winter, I take extra care at the first major "merge into flying traffic" and I give myself a little extra room to make that first move.

Once the my lung bird is up to full song for the first time, she is warm from there on out.

Oil is blue jug Shell Rotella 5w40 full synthetic (which explains why I have so few warm up issues).
