Exhaust Question
05/15/09 at 10:12:49

Hey everyone,

I have read several posts about the HD muffler conversion and one of them mentioned a 6-7 inch extension with a 10 degree bend. My question is what size pipe would you need to fit over the head pipe and the HD muffler?

Thanks  Grin

What does the IIRC stand for? I realize it may be a stupid question.

yes they do. You just have to shim the header with something in order for the muffler to fit snuggly and then clamp down tight. I used versachem hi-temp steel to shim but now after a year, that is breaking off from all the vibrations. Some have used pop cans and aluminum tape. In fact inside my old stock muffler I noticed some sort of aluminum wrapping used to shim the muffler.
