If your kickstand is down (or "thinks" it is), it will die if you put it into gear.

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut between the seat and the handlebars. Make sure yours isn't too tight or too loose.

Check kickstand spring, it could be weakening letting the stand hang down enough to activate the safety switch.

Let me see, you changed the bars and now it dies. when you put in gear.

Clutch interlock is only good for starting.
Same with neutral.
That leaves kickstand, it's only active in gear.

Yup!!!   The kill switch has gotten me a couple of times. You'd think a person would catch on after the 1st time Tongue

We all get a turn, but what a relief it is finding out it's something a simple as forgetting something simple. Beats the many alternatives of mechanical problems that could go wrong. I'll take a virtual slap on the head over a repair that'll cost me $$ anytime.

Tell him not to feel bad, most of us have probably done either the same thing, or something similar! Cheesy
