Thanks much!

For ball park #'s thats about right. Gas milage depends on mods & how you drive.  Some guys say they've gotten up to 100mph but they have mods done on their bikes and probably their nerves too Cheesy

I've a 2008 stock and vary between 60-70 mpg (cdn gallon) and have geen to 80mph with no effort.

I can make 83 mph, but not a penny more unless I'm headed downhill.  48-54 mpg, depending on whether I'm following my wife down the road or not.  She makes me behave. Smiley

On long flat I can hit 100 (indicated). Other wise 93 is probably about about it.

Improving airflow into and out of the S40 engine then matching the fuel needs makes a big difference and at a surprisingly low cost.  Gas mileage will suffer if you enjoy that extra power though.  But it can be very tricky finding the right setup.  Experimenting with intake and exhaust mods and subsequent rejetting, I've easily added another 10-12mph to my bike's top speed while several times I've easily lost 10mph off of the stock top speed with mods that seemed like they'd work well but didn't.

I can do 100mph but it isn't very comfortable. Chain drive, muffler swap, jetting, etc. To be honest, the chain drive and ratio changes make it possible.  I've had a Honda 175 do the ton, so it isn't such a "magic" moment!

Too much butt puckering but Ive been close to 100mph. 85 before i did any mods when the speedo was spot on. Had plenty of throttle left though. The revs were really shaking me though. 90 indicated after chain drive conversion with 16/41 combo and 16in rear wheel. So...maybe 100. Im doing 56-57 at an indicated 50 now. I firmly believe its entirely doable stock but I wouldnt hold it there for long. Changing the drive ratio with the chain conversion makes it more comfortable physically as revs are lowered and mentally as you've got more leway. 100mph stock is redline.

That's about the top comfortable speed range and I do it daily.
My performance check is a uphill run, steep enough to make a garbage truck go backwards and ol' vdubs wheese down to 50.  I do 87 from 70 at the bottom.  Even before the mods it was over 80.
MPG ranges from 50 to 60 depending on my grin.   Grin

I'm averaging ~57 mpg on a stock '06 with 6K miles.  My miles are mostly to-and-from work with my route being split about 70% surface streets and 30% interstate.

I don't know how accurate my speedo is but I've had it to 85 indicated a few times.  I imagine if I had room to wind it out, it might make 90.
