trouble setting shockpreset (Read 91 times)

Like I said I used an Allen in the hole and with that and my hand was able to turn the whole part and got it to adjust. Wonder if there is something stuck.

bill67 Serious Thumper Offline old tired Posts: 8517 genoa city wisconsin Gender:	Re: trouble setting shockpreset Reply #5 - 05/11/09 at 12:02:40 Its harder to tighten it than loosen it,lift some of the weight of the bike up it helps,lift and turn at rhe same time. I've had a lot of bikes over the years and never had to take the shocks off to adjust.

Look under the right shock ('cuz that one is higher when the bike is on its sidestand). See the cam (lump) and the notches? Spray some lube on them and up into the parts that are supposed to turn. Work the base of the shock back and forth until the parts move and you get the shock set the way you want it. Clean the lube off with solvent so it won't hold dirt. Repeat on the other side.

I lifted the back of the bike off the ground while my kid tured the shock. That worked pretty smoothly.
