Hey guys. I know I'm just a novice here. Could the oil leak he describes be the infamous Savage plug/cap leak?

Hi everyone

I found out what happened to the bike after me and my bike guy got it apart... The person that had the bike before me let it run dry then did a bad home job. Bored at home and not at a shop cam and rockers were messed loabes on the cam were almost gone and the pads on the rockers were ~ not (. So now new bore, new piston, new rings, new cam, new rockers, and new valve guides but after all said and done will be just like new lol  Shocked....

FUN FUN

wow… I'm curious as to what the seller told you about this bike before you bought it? Did they say it ran great and has always been taken proper care of?

More mid range torque, from a bit more duration. You coulda sent hime your dead/wounded cam & he woulda sent you one that had been built up & reground. Providing the journals werent toast I guess. Maybe you didnt have a decent core, IDK.
Im surprised you didnt need a new head & head cover.

as far as I know I did not have a good core he showed me what it should look like and for lack of a better word he said mine was toast. In parts it is going to cost me $550cnd and about 10-15hr's to do it all. Just waiting on the parts now...  Cheesy
