if anything upgrade 2 a shaft lol
belt is lower maintainence, but not as adaptable... with a chain, you can adjust your final drive ratio by changing sprockets... theoretically, you could do the same with a belt, but in practical terms, it just doesnt work... ask any drag racer, once you get your engine dialed in for a track condition, what makes or breaks your time? final drive is the answer... a sprocket change can transform your bike from a wheely popping, quick accelerating red light hopper, to a high speed highway cruiser.... a few sprocket combos, and 1 chain will do it... with a belt, you'd need an assortment of sprockets, and an assortment of belts, and stil, because of the tooth length on the belt, wouldnt be able to match the ratios available with a chain.... and, heres an old school fact for you... your belt breaks, you're pushing, or calling for a buddie's pickup truck
.... your chain pops, you pull the spare master link off your keychain, or bootlace, and you ride home on what brung ya....
