Help! Need Help replacing the front brake pads?
04/30/09 at 15:09:52

Hi Guys!

I replaced the factory original pads, worn pretty thin I might add, and bled the brake line. The brake lever is now pretty firm and stops about one inch from the bar. At a walking speed with no weight on the bike, applying the brake will dive the front. At anything over two miles with my butt in the saddle It will not stop. I obviously didn't get the pads back in correctly. Any ideas?
I don't have a manual and I am flying solo.

O.K., I'm puzzled....  If you look can you see a pad on each side of the disc?..

Feeling really really stupid here!
Let's see, that is supposed to be Pad, Rotor, Pad...not Pad, Pad, Rotor, right?
My wife is laughing at me, and asking again if I still want to play with guns.
Thanks for your help.

You did see this?

http://suzukisavage.com/cgi-bin/YaBB.pl?num=1099514582/0

Friction material goes against the disk?

And I don't understand how you could dive the front end and not have braking with your but on it.  Diving that easy tells me something wrong with the forks.

Thanks Serowbot,

Pad "Rotor" Pad works much better. I will still have to bleed it again it seems a little mushy now Smiley
And to think, You have allowed me to bring a little laughter to the whole country, and all I had to do was leap before I looked.

Thank you all for your help
You guys Rock!
