Longer brake line ? HELP (Read 128 times)

But discovered that the front brake line was to short and the clutch cable is also VERY tight. Does anyone know another bike that use a bit longer break line (about 120 cm would be great) and perhaps a bike that use a little longer clutchcable as well

HELP Reply #2 - 04/27/09 at 06:29:17 Why not switch to a stainless steel brake line? Is your bike a Savage or S40? It's my understanding that the Savage cables should work with the 10" mini apes. You can re-route the cables to get a little bit extra length if needed. This is one of my upcoming projects too!

The 86-88 4 inch riser savage I bought recently has these tiny tiny cables ... wont even take a 6 inch riser ... and the S40 is the same way ... barely enough cables and lines to get by. Cool. I used to have the stock buckhorns and a set of 4" risers. The cables and brake line work fine with this, but I did not like the look so I got the 10" apes. I just bought Hel stainless brake line this winter, but its to short for this

Though when I put my 10 inch mini apes on my 2000 Savage, I had the stock buckhorns and no problems with the cable lengths.
