While it's too expensive for me/my budget I really like how a small company has developed and brought this product to market.  Smiley

Don't care alot for the dirt bike look, unless you're gonna clear triples and do tabletops on this thing.

I stay with the Savage until they make it look better and increase the range. Would be okay for commuting I guess.

Shhhh, it's a super-moto, you get the advantages of a motocross bike for the city (i.e. great for commuters, not so great for long distance biking). Nice light weight and very nice power-to-weight ratio   Wink

It's ripe for a couple of mod's... lower the rear, rake the front or put on a springer.  probably something you can do with that seat.

Top Speed: 60 mph (96.6 kph) - Savage goes faster

Range: Up to 60 miles (97 km) - Savage goes farther on a tank.  (Finally somthing that goes less distance on a "tank" than a Savage.  Grin )

Recharge time: Less than 4 hours (can take 110V or 220V) - Savage "recharge" time = 4 minutes

MSRP $9950.00  - Cost of my (used) Savage with all the mods: $2100.  I have 2 bikes and still cost me 1/2 that price.  Of course, I only buy used.

Nice toy.  Not practical for me.

A used Savage for $2,000.00 leaves $8,000.00 for gas before the retail - tax is met. Its not practical.
Theres a new approximately $40,000.00 41 MPG car out. Whoopee!
Get a used Matrix/Vibe for $11,000.00 & have $29,000.00 worth of fuel savings to burn before break even. Not practical. Its a "Feel Good" solution.

I laugh about the new cars bragging about 35 mpg.  Heck, my '01 Saturn does that driving back and forth to work, and I've managed 45 mpg all freeway driving, on vacation! Shocked  Plus, it's paid for! Cheesy
The bike needs longer range, and higher top speed.  I do like the short recharge time though.

Holy hell!  Four hours of charging for 60 miles?  IMO, that's nowhere close to usable unless you're just toolin' around a college campus or something... might as well ride a Segway then..

There's new batteries that are being developed that will charge in 5 minutes. Once they hit the market, these electric vehicles will be viable.  I'm guessing in a few years electric will begin to be very attractive, especially for city commuting.

Remember those Loud Pipes that "save Lives" also prevent you from hearing the oncoming traffic. And they are driving legislation that will outlaw aftermarket pipes altogether. LOUD PIPES ARE ANTISOCIAL.

While I agree that extremely loud pipes are not beneficial, quiet stock pipes are a hazard.  We are not always seen, but if heard, we will be looked for.  Even the electric vehicles are concidered a hazard because they are so quiet.  Some noise is beneficial.
