The inner dia. measured 7/16".
Carquest said they talked to K&N and was given a price of $30 for one that would fit!!!!???
What has everyone else used and where can I get one??

Dude, take your medications, sit down for a few and breathe!

All these posts, all these mods... you remind me of me so much that it's scary!

Just messin' with ya.  Gort and I covered it on the other thread.

NTG, ain't moddin' fun?  One thing leads to another.  It's a never ending cycle.  But that's why it rocks!!!!

Ha ha ha never enough meds to slow me down when it comes to the savage. Tend to be a perfectionist and like to get things right the first time. Hard to slow myself down sometimes.  Grin

Edit: Saw that I got the petcock and filter thread mixed up, my bad

thumperclone thx for the assistance but wont be cool till I have one in my hand to install on the bike!
And the more input from other riders the better I think.
Differences in locations also tend to play a factor in part location.
Doing some more searching now, hopefully I come up with something. The tank goes back on next then it's time to start her up and c what she says!!  Grin

Still coming up with nothing. Having hard time finding the right size filter and the US suppliers I looked at dont seem to ship to Canada.
Fellow Canadians plz chime in. What price range am I looking at for these little guys?
Why cant anything be simple nowadays??

I went to the local Advance Auto parts store (maybe AutoZone, PepBoys, etc)...

I went into the ricer section and found a small filter for $10. I have one on my Festiva too. It's bigger than some of the ones that are posted on here... But, it does the job just fine.

To make it fit... I stopped by Lowes and got a tube to tube connector (it was in their plumbing aisle) for $1.00 and used 2 small hose clamps to secure that in place.

Not the best (or most direct shot of it), but it's the blue filter behind the air filter on the carb...

Summit Racing will ship it to Canada.  Here is the link to the part:

http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=SPE-3995&N=700...

You will need to go to a hardware store and buy 2 small fuel line fittings and a union to adapt the Savage oil breather hose to the actual oil breather.  Its easy to do.

Thanks fella's. Patience is not my strong point. Eager to get back on the road now that the snow from a freak spring storm has melted.

Well thanks to Gort and the local custom shop I discovered the filters I had been looking for are much easier to find if you search for Valve cover breathers or crankcase breathers. 8mm-10mm. Prices range from $10-15.
