Manm, I cant remember how that works, but IIRC, the float pivot is "kept" by the bowl being mounted or something in the way, but I dont remember anything clipping in the axle the float swings on..Crap,, not much help,,

Got a book? I hear those things even have PIKKKa Chewers.

think he's talking about the clip from the float valve to the float.

yes, I think it's needed.  more or less to pull the valve down if it got stuck.

my bike seems to be running rich but I have tried everything and can't seem to get it lean. (chokes, coughs and backfires through each gear when I try to go smooth. If I accelerate quickly it feels fine)

Any Help?!

Thanks in advance

Have you checked the vacuum line to the petcock for the presence of gas?....  There should be absolutely none in that line.  If there is, it's the petcock that's making you rich.

What jets are you running?

how many miles?

Did you check the vac hose for fuel?

Did you check for intake leaks?

CA model?  All the hoses ok?

I am running the stock carb and all jets are stock, No fuel in vacuum hose , float works correctly, 2300 miles, AZ bike.

Why would it be acting up while accelerating?

Do you mean to say that when you accel easy it coughs and sputters?
But when you accel hard, it's fine?

Sounds like a white spacer issue.  It's easy to put back the spring or the spacer in the wrong position.  Take it apart and check how it's put together.  And I may mean that you need to thin the spacer a little.  I prefer to change out the white spacer with #3? washers.  This makes it easy to vary the height and go back higher after you've gone too thin.

When you accel hard WOT, you're using the main jet.
When you accel easy, you're using the needle jet.
