I have had it on the savage for over a year, and have yet to have anyone pull out in front of me. However, if you install one be prepared for a lot of people to stop to tell you that your headlight is flashing. Ed Bel Air, MD

When visiting in the States I did see a couple of bikes equipped with modulators.

Here's my two cents:

1) The headlight flashes too rapidly; it is quite visible, very annoying and, according to my Mrs. (a doctor) could actually trigger an epileptic fit.

2) It would be best if the modulator gave three possibilities:
a. steady bright;
b. steady dim;
c. flash slowly (i.e. 1/sec, not 5/sec.)

Given the Savage's very weak generator (rated at 100W = 8 amps only, can anyone confirm?) this means NO daylight driving lights...

If I find something annoying to me, then I won't put it on my bike, as I don't want to annoy others. That includes modulators and "overly loud" exhaust. Is that a personal opinion?? Sure is!!!!

They are legal in all states by federal law IF they automatically stop modulating at night. See here:

I have been using modulators on my motorcycles for many years. The only negative is that they are much more expensive than they used to be (so is everything else!).
