What I looking for is the filter that goes directly on the carb throat thus eliminating the black tube that goes from the carb to the air filter housing. I'll be sure and let everyone know when I find what I'm looking for. Thanks again for you help.

I've never had the K&N pod filter so I wasn't sure. But it can get confusing looking at all those different model numbers on the K&N site. Also, other sellers could mistakenly list the number with a wrong description or use the wrong pic. Definitely get the K&N over the other brands. Mine was an ebay K&N imitation that didn't need the oil. It had an internal narrowing that I'm pretty sure now the K&N cone filters don't have.

I was using the one on the left. I got mine off of ebay last fall for 19.99 + shipping. It's this one- http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SUZUKI-SAVAGE-LS650-S40-HIGH-PERFORMANCE-CONE-... from notorious flightsimshop.

Avoid it. It has a narrowing inside that the K&N on the right does not have. Examining and measuring mine (the left one) revealed that the internal narrowing interferes some with the airflow that enters the pilot air jet opening located at the top of the inside mouth of the stock carb. Either get Lancer's or the K&N.
