Where do you hook these lines up?
Petcock side has (#4) Fuel line and (#3) line that leads above carb
Brake side has (#2) Line that leads above Carb which is above the (#1) tank "breather line". Do I have this right?

on mine, 2 and 3 are just turned down and held in place by a brass guide that the two forward bowl screws locate. and number one is just turned down about 4 inches. All are just vents. Of course it would be nice to have Lancer confirm that.

If I have my history correct......
1 should be the overflow drain
2 and 3 are vents..aim down
4 is gas supply from fuel tank

I finally got it tuned well. VM 36 with 17.5 and 175 jets. Needle setting on leanest (toward top) and 1/2 turn out on air/fuel mix. I have the rpms set at 900 and I know its a little low but it seems to run better. It is supposed to be set at 1100 but the rpm's would never settle at a good rate. Also I just replaced the fork oil. What a difference it makes in the ride, it came out 1/2 full and gray and went in clear and full to spec. From the PO so not sure how long it was in there. Now I just have to swap tires and replace brakes. Oil leak has almost dissapeared as well. It just turned 13,000 miles on an 1987. No UFO but have K&N filter. Is it bad to have the tank vent hooked up to the float bowl overflow?

I think the float bowl vent should be turned down, how else would it bleed if it needed to. If your float was set too high or the little float valve wasn't closing properly the overflow couldn't bleed out because it won't escape higher than the carb and it will flood. If any of those scenerios were happening it would definately be too rich. The float level is important too.
And you also have a quick visual with the line just turned down as to whether the lines leaking. Hooked up the the tank vent is also blocking that vent line right?
My opinion, Seviersavage
