Homedepot sells electrical conduit that is grey plastic. You can buy a bend that will fit right into the coupler on the head and fits even with the carb (just have to use a rubber coupler to connect the two). Its uv resistant, made to be heated and bent so you can adjust if needed, scurbable and paintable, plus it only cost me 4bux!

I've got a question.  On the pod filters, when you look inside the filter from the mounting side, about 5/8" in there is a narrowing, an inside flange if you will (at least there is on mine).  Upon taking measurements, it seems to me that this inside flange covers or at least significantly blocks air passage to the top vent in the venturi.  Here's a pic below to illustrate.  I know it's not a LS650 carb but the inlet design is similar.  The outer ring is the inside rubber that mounts and contacts the outside of the carb.  The inside ring is the ID of the inside flange.  Does this cause a problem?
