Matt, I am kind of with you. I have an 87 and it is just a motorcycle. I do not want any of the other stuff; radio, etc. It is cool to just ride, I have about gotten to the point that I can judge my speed by the sound of the engine, only very rarely looking down to check the speedo. I really like the fact that I can tinker with it and there is only so much that I can mess up and I can probably fix whatever breaks.
I can appreciate the fully tricked out bikes, but like you said, they are almost cars on two wheels. I really think the savage is a case of "less is more" and I like that.
Also, another post mentioned not seeing another one around. I like that as well, I saw Savagegreasemonkey's bike once, but it is different from mine, I am still pretty stock. Everywhere I look I see goldwings and harleys and crotch rockets, those are cool, but I like moving to a different drum, er thump.
So yeah, I think we got a cool bike.
