Yesterday I did another stupid thing.  I filled up my bike in the late afternoon about a half mile from my house.  I didn't overfill it.  I filled it to the bottom of the tube.  

The next day when I got on the bike about noon, and leaned the bike upright, I heard a pop and gas ran out of my gas cap.  I realized that the heat (It had been over 90 the day before) had expanded the gas, and that when the bike was leaned over, there was still room, but on standing it upright, it must have come up the filler pipe.

Now for my question.  Ever since then, I get a slight odor of gas when I get on and start the bike.  It quickly goes away.  I have checked all around the carb, and there are no leaks.  I do not see any gas around the cap.  Is it possible that I blew some type of vent on the cap?

There's a mod on here to fix.  I haven't done it yet but need to.

I agree with Versy, blow it out to make sure. I found mine was having issues.

I also found a guy selling "cycle shades" on ebay, I got them on sale during the holidays, and they work good, they cover the seat and the tank and so far are helping the expansion of the fuel on those 100° days. It easily slips on the turn signals on the front and the back.
