shocked by the savage

I have been searching for a starter bike for quite some time  and managed to pick up a 1999 savage for 900 bucks two weeks ago. It's got the infamous oil leak and backfiring bot when i hopped on the internet and found you guys.I'm relieved to know that those issues can be fixed relatively easily. You guys have got an awesome sight here and i am glad to be on board.

Jake,
Welcome!!   It's a good starter bike, and it has a tendency to grow on you.  Several members have sold their first Savage and regreted it so much they either  bought one as a second bike or just plain went back to it.

Hi Jake, welcome.  I know you will love your Savage.  There are a lot of smart / funny / helpful people here.  Also I think you will come to love the final backfire when you put your bike to bed at night.

Ride safe,
Amy
