Out of hibernation question
02/16/09 at 18:42:16

I have let it sit for the last few months. It won't be long and the temp will get above 30.  Grin

I have started the bike every few weeks. I have good oil and a half a tank of gas.

Should I just burn the half gallon up on the first ride?

Should I top it off?

Drain the tank?

TIA

ehhh...if its been just a few months and you dont have a rusted out tank I personaly would say just fill it up (either w a gas can or drive it to the station) and let er' rip....but then again its not like it would be super hard to drain the tank and be more reassured....

I'd put some Sea Foam in her, too (not too much, maybe an ounce or so) just to clear out anything that may have gunked up or condensed.  Be sure you check her over completely.  Tires get slow-leaks, lose pressure, brakes may get funky, bulbs burn out, circuits blow, seals leak, etc.  Of course it helps if you have a garage to keep it in (I don't  Sad )  You should check before you ride, anyway, of course, but especially after she's sat around for a while in extreme temp and moisture changes.

*really, I only say these things, because after 3 months under a carport and a tarp, I had at least 4 or 5 of these issues*
