quick answer, metric.....  long answer......  I'll have to take one out and get my metric thread gauge to check.

M6 x whatever length you need depending on if you've done the seat mod up front using spacers.  I don't remember thread pitch but they're at every hardware store I've been to, both chain and small town type.

Now is a great time to change to long allen heads with 2 jamnuts. Easier to carry an allen to pull the seat than a 10mm & a ratchet/extension.

When I got my bike it had jam nuts on a bolt with a split ring through the head.  That seemed like a good idea, but it didn't work all that good.  I decided to go with a bal detent pin, here is a picture,  think (not too sure about posting pictures) They call it a detent pin.

That works great, I did have to drill the threads just a little, I got a 1/4 inch, it fits tight and the seat has not moved since I put them in.

I like the locking pins myself, one to left and one below.

See the sportster seat mod in the tech section.

Hmmm. I like this idea. Anyone else use these to good (or bad) effect?
