If you have the original key number you take it into the closest Suzuki dealer and get a new one cut.

Don't know if this will work for a S40/Savage but for an Intruder I seem to recall that connecting the red and orange wires will bypass the key.  Maybe all Suzuki models have standardized red and orange wires.

Danroot,  Screw that mechanic.  On page 809 of the Dennis Kirk Fat Book, there are at least 4 switches that I see could work with a little electrical help.  All priced under $60.00.

Or, get the bike home, remove the switch, take said switch to a locksmith, and have them remove the cylinder and re-key it.

Cheaper to buy a new switch from Dennis Kirk.

Granted, they are for Harleys, but who cares, half the stuff people make for Harleys fit our bikes anyway. Cheesy

Dan I hope your mechanic is pretty!

Hell I could replace your ig switch for $600 !
Send me a plane ticket most likely cost $400, and I'll bring the extra I have for a $100 only cause I got to get a key.

But never mind that.  Throw a rug on the floor in front of the ig switch.  Get down on your knee and do a little prayin'.  While you're down there, look on the under side of the ig switch for a black strip with some white letterin'.  Now sometimes that letterin' gets faded and you might need to take the bolt loose and look at it real close but it's there.  Take the numbers to anyone who can do bike keys.

Now how come all you smart @$$es don't know this?  And this ain't the 1st time this has come up?  Why ain't you payin' attention?   Shocked

there is one on the german ebay suzuki ls 650 savage markenspezifish site  Item number: 180325949485, it is at one euro just now but they usually go for between 15--25 euros, if all else fails its worth an email to the seller, the only problen is your fuel tank lock, but it isn't a hi tec lock if you shuggle about with some different keys (small padlock ones) you will get one to open it.
If you want,, go into,,, ebay eu. then. auto motorradteile..you will then see,, ALLEN KATEGORIEN,, put in,,, Suzuki LS 650,,and hit FINDEN,, the whole lot should come up about 700 hundred items,, It is good thinking to get a couple of blanks and get spares cut for the LS as where the ign switch is, the key sometimes works its way out with the vibes if the switch is worn,,cheers

I wired a tiny starter button on the decomp timer under the seat./ It used to do strange things, shut off, no crank, it fixed itself I guess.
But, all you gotta do is get fire to the ignition & hit the starter. Do whatever, but dont let it get towed. Grab a diagrahm & ohm meter & go get that thing home.
