Cable seal

Anbody know where to get the actual speedo cable seal. I would like to find one and not just put in a makeshift oring. I have an oring in now but would like to see if a new one would work better.

Why not go to the local Suzuki shop? It can't be that expensive.. It'd be the same one as the newer S40

Because unless they have changed the seal comes only with a new cable. Max

They could make big bucks selling a replacement.  Every one looses it sooner or later.

But it's not available as a replacement.

And I'm in luck, guess where I found one?

yep, under the starter of the replacement engine I got.   Grin

That's where mine hid for a few years.  When I found it, I was dumb enough to clean it up and use it to replace the perfectly good o-ring I had in the speedo cable fitting.

You guessed it, the seal leaked.

I've got an o-ring in there again.  It works great.  I see no reason to track down another OEM oil seal.

Yep, already lost mine too. Used an o-ring from Lowes. Works great. No leak.

I have both of mine but the lower one leaks so I think I'll try the O-Ring. I was afraid it might get too hot for it and melt..

I've probably put 3,000 miles on since the o-ring. No leaks yet. Wasn't a perfect fit either. Part of a faucet repair set I purchased for another project. It was a little oversized, but formed up in there nice enough to do the job.
