the famous savage oil leak
01/28/09 at 08:32:57
Well it seems that i have the famous savage oil leak, and from what i can see with a flashlight it seems that the points cover is also leaking so iīm going to do the plug replacement and clean up my top end, unfortunately I canīt find a manual with the torque values for all the bolts, can anyone help me here? i would really appreciate it, just so tired of all the oily mess, and kneeling all the time to peer at the oil window.

There's an online Clymer manual somewhere in the tech section. For the moment, this post may help:

Hey
Joe beat me to the punch, I started typing and got called away.
Here is the link in the tech section.

I discovered this on mine this morning as well. I am guessing I will have to do it soon. I guess misery loves company.

I've had it. In my case, it was self imposed (due to a less than inspired job of cleaning the sealant off of an old plug before I reused it).
Consider it a Savage rite of passage!
