I made it all the way to the bank this morning before I realized it was closed for MLK day! I put a deposit on a 2006 Savage with only 137 miles on it Saturday and wanted to pick it up today (but I need a Cashier's check). Total price was only $3000, so I think I did good.

Actually, this will be my third LS650. I had a yellow '96 and a blue '01 in the past (this one is black). I've owned many other bikes, but seem to keep coming back to the LS650.

I even went to Lowes this morning and bought the #7 stoppers and bolts so I could do the seat lift right away.  :'(

I just realized that I called it a 2006 Savage. Technically I guess it is a "Boulevard S40" (but it will always be a Savage to me!).

Sounds like a great deal, congrats!
For some reason, reading this post made me wonder what the price for a brand new Savage was in 1986?

I don't know about 1986, but in 1996, when I bought my first one (it was new), it cost me about $2700.

I could be way off but I remember seeing an old suzuki savage flyer from the first year. i think the MSRP was $1895 or $1995. Maybe $2495. Something in that area.

Bought my 04 with 8600 miles for $2000 even July 08.  Great deal......

Too bad I'm dropping another $1500 into customizing parts, $600 in powdercoating, and about $750 into paint......

Oh well, $5000 for this custom project is not as bad as my Beamers I guess...... (Just don't tell the wife.......)
