Seat Mod, different bracket?
12/30/08 at 14:12:57
I was going over the seat mod in the tech doc section and i noticed
that most all of the pictures had a much shorter bracket to hold the seat down with (only a cm or so tall). While mine is much taller, ( about
1.25inch tall). Anyone have any problems doing the mod with this style of bracket? Is my bracket even stock?
any pointers would be great. I'd love to be a little mor comfortable
on my bike.

If you are talking about the raise at the front of the seat, the stock seat bracket works just fine.

don't understand the phraseology... but, I did narrow the white plastic seat tongue, to fit between the piping I used as bolt-spacers on the lifts....
Geez...what I just wrote, makes no sense either...

"much shorter bracket to hold the seat down with (only a cm or so tall). While mine is much taller, ( about

Are you talking about the plastic piece on the bottom of the seat itself, or the metal bracket on the frame of the bike? Did you buy the bike used? Sounds like someone may have already done this mod for you....
got pics?

sorry, my words make no sense.....
the "bronse" bracket used to hold the white plastic seat "tongue" down.
in all the photos of the "seat mod" in the tech forum, the bronze bracket is very short, only cm tall or so.
My "bronze bracket" is much taller than those in the photo, and i was wondering if that was just a diff in the year of the bike or what.
If you guys are still confused, i'll take a pic when i get the chance.

Do you mean the black bracket that is shown here in bobo's pic? He has to tall black washers under his. If this is the bracket you speak of, your is bronze and taller, than most likely yes you have some sort of seat mod already.
