fitting a vm carb

I found a 38 mm vm carb for cheap and want to clean it up and put it on this winter.

Can anyone tell me what size and kind of throttle cable I need? and maybe where to get one?

Also will I be able to utilize the stock airfilter box, I guess I'll need a new rubber skirt tube thing? where might I possibly find that kind of animal.
any help is appreciated !

the cables are special made by barnett. you would need to change the intake, sudco makes them. i dont know about the airbox, i'm not using one.

Hey, drop me a line again man; you do need a custom designed throttle cable and Barnett is the only source I am aware of that has the info needed to make exactly what you need.  I did the research & leg work necessary to make this available for our members.  You cannot buy the cable direct...must go through an authorized dealer, and if that dealer does not have the specific tech info required then you will not get the correct cable.

Sudco is the primary supply source for the rubber mounting flange and assorted jets & needle that will be required to get the carb set up for use on the LS650.

Did you get a copy of the VM carb manual already ?  If  not then you need one.
