Fork oil leak ?
11/16/08 at 20:25:30

I'm getting something I thought  at first looked like bugs splattering on my right front fork tube. But it turned out to be an oily substance. It really does look like bugs squashed on there, all the way around though, until you touch it and feel the sliminess of it.

Question is, is it coming from the top or bottom of the fork tube? If it's from the top are new seals a must? I didn't get this until I tried pulling the trailer with quite a bit of weight on it. Found out then that heavy trailer +  light bike = front wobble at speed. That's an all together different issue that I'll work on once I figure out the messy front end problem. I'm just not looking forward to digging into the (for me) uncharted territory of fork tube surgery.

Most likely, your seals are starting to leak.

Easy enough to replace.
