Looks like the savage trike will look really cool once it's finalized.  I saw the C50 Tramp at the suzuki dealer last week and it looked really cool so seeing a savage triked out will be cool.

Looks great... Those rims are awesome. I am looking forward to seeing it come together bit by bit.

I must say, I am jealous of your shop.....All that space to work in, and very well organized also...Must be nice!

I went over to Mike's house yesterday.  He does have a cool shop!  Got to see the progress on the bike.  It's still mostly bike-in-a-box as he's slowly collecting each and every little part- every nut, bolt, washer, spacer, o-ring, etc.  It is truly one of those "build from scratch" projects and then some! I'm gonna check my garage for left over spare parts and also keep my eye out for parts and deals that I come across that might help him out.  It's too often those little things, the little details, that seem to slow a project down.  To those not familiar with Mike, which I wasn't until yesterday, this is much more than just another bike project.

For those interested in working on the LS650 beyond just general maintenance, I suggest closely following Mike's trike build as I'm certain we will all learn tons of stuff from his work.   He showed me a lot of stuff he's got about his last trike.  Wow, to say it was pure bad a$$ just ain't enough!

Had some alum stock and made a new set of brackets that I will end up making foot pegs out of with straps to help hold my feet on the trike...

Mike, you ever get those other table legs cut to finish the table and get that mill off the ground?  I've get some 4x4 scraps laying around if you need em. I can run them by your house next week if needed.

I got it fixed, mill is up and working... I do need some steel for table legs and frame for the welding table, I got the steel sheet for the top.

let me know when you can drop your bike off for a few days for I can get some of that stuff we talked about measured up, and get some of your stuff worked on.

How many people here want bar end mirrors and/or turn signals ?

What type of bar end mirrors/turn signals we talking about?  Im guessing custom?  Would help me a ton since I cant see anything in my mirrors after putting on my 10" mini apes.  I'd be interested in some bar end mirrors.

I'm looking for the mirror part now..... I'll make custom bar ends so I can mount a "small" mirror... no bigger than 2 1/2" and with or without mini LED turn lites....

For the lights, the wires would run inside and it would be up to the owner to run wires in the bars to them and drill a hole to pull them out at the location of your choice.......
I'd recommend from the inside of the controls so to match the stock wiring...

The mirrors I dont know yet as I am looking for a suitable mirror for this.... but they most likely will have only one pivot to adjust back and forth, rotate the bar end to adjust up and down view... when tight they would be darn close to solid..... but if hit move back or forward.

Make them similar to the design of a typical magnifying glass.  Instead of glass in the middle it would be flat solid metal, essentially making a recessed front and back pocket.  The handle of the magnifying glass would be the bar-end weight.

The turns signals can be mounted on the front side and round mirrors on the back.  For the mirrors, make a separate round wedge shaped piece to go between the mirror and the mounting surface of the unit.  Mount the mirror to the wedge to make it a single unit.  After the owner installs the base and connects the wiring, he can hold the mirror in place, rotate it to get the viewing angle they desire, mark it then mount with double-sided 3M auto trim tape.

For mounting mine, I inserted the bar end weights, drilled a hole through the bottom of the bar and into the weights, threaded the holes, inserted a headless screw, screwed until flush and put the grips back on.
