Which engine guard is best?
10/31/08 at 14:30:27

Hi all!!!

I have a 98 Savage and I'm looking for a great looking, high quality engine guard.

Any suggestions of something that fits our bike and will protect things should a "tip-over" occur??  Also, if you could let me know the best place to look for them?

Thanks!

I do not know of a good guard to recommend, but I can tell you *not* to bother with the OEM guard. It is really just a foot peg mount at best.

I can second that. When I went down the OEM's did not get a scratch on them. In my defense they came with the bike,  I did not buy them.

"Wingerline" Engine Guards appear to be superior to the OEM ones ... I have not tried 'em, nor do I have a link, but they look like the real deal from pics I've seen ... maybe some Members that have 'em installed can comment?

I've used the Wingerline highway bars on my Savage for several years and I like them a lot.

Try either zooming into the posted image or download the original based on the url to it.  It should be a decent resolution.  If you can't get it, shoot me an email and I'll email it to you.

Rob can we get a picture of the other side of your bike, showing the guard?

Thanks

+1 on the Wingerline.  Took a little while after ordering it but way better than OEM.
