Actually, the rake is still the stock rake, I didn't do anything to the frame. I got the front end off of e-bay, it is just longer than the stock fork tubes is all. I haven't measured it, so I can't really tell you what the length is. I will measure it in a little while and get back to you on that.

I could increase the rake by making some slightly extended bars for the lower tree if I wanted to and still not have to touch the frame itself.

My 2001 is about as stock as they come, as far as running gear goes.  Since I don't own a cage, my Savage is a daily rider.  Here's a pic taken as I was getting ready to go to the post office.  I had just sold my ST1100 seat on eBay.

My bike runs really good.  9400 miles.

Dude !  You live in C. Springs and don't own a cage ? ? ?
Do you wear a space suit in the winter ? ?   Cheesy

Two words....."bus pass."  Wink

Oh!  And two more words......."frost bite."  Angry

i just got to say it,   i just hate those front ends, not just on the savage  but any machine.  but then again somebody here thinks bobbers look stupid.  i guess thats why we do so much with them

You just gotta hate my long bike the most then... Have you ever noticed that my reflectors have been changed out to... LIGHTS ... LOL!!!  Grin  There's even an extra brake light on the sissy bar where the little "Suzuki" logo usually goes. And one of these days I've just got to get those bar end signals back on there  Roll Eyes   Grin

I am new to the Savage and its style. My last bike was a sport - tourer. This is a 1986. The only thing I have done so far is to change the pullback style bars to straight bars. Future mods to come.

My 2004 Savage (gone but not forgotten!)

My 2005 C50

And, like many other FSO's, I'm keeping craigslist and cycletrader handy.  I want another Savage....

(There are days I think I should have just gone ahead and overhauled the engine on my old one......)
