Torque for Left-side crankcase cover
10/21/08 at 19:50:41
Hi all,
Had to install a gasket for the left-side crankcase cover when it sprang a leak. Seems the PO didn't believe in gaskets but was a born-again believer in white silicone kitchen caulk. That was a fun clean-up job.
Anyways, I've got the new gasket on and the bolts in, but wasn't sure how tight to torque them. Can anybody confirm that those bolts are what the Clymer calls "crankcase bolts (6mm)" with a torque of 6.6-9.9 ft/lbs? That's also what I found in the Torque Spec List in the Tech section here.
Figured I'd better ask before I did it wrong.
Thanks,
Dave
