for the tip about the faucet washer, it seems to be working well. i used a small round file to bore out the inside and it fit like a glove. Cool

i believe for the speedo o-ring.
by the way I was able to order just the o-ring from a local suzuki dealer

Yeah, that speedo "O" ring part number needs to go into a Tech Section post -- mysterious invisible part number that it is ....

Betcha he found it elsewhere on some other bike and knew it would work.

Is this the exact part you received, or was it an o-ring? The seal is not a classic o-ring at all.

that is the exact part i ordered from sky cycle in lunenburg mass. they are now called central mass power sports or some such. I'll go over there one of these days and order another one and get the part number for you all. if i recall it was really cheap

The shop I use to work in rebuilt a lot of solenoid and mechanical air valves. Each valve required several and everybody called them "Square O rings" I think they were made by the Parker seal company.
