Blowing Fuses

I have a 1987 LS650 Suzi No serious mods. I keep blowing fuses The top Fuse. Every time I slow down to stop. It seams I have to use both brakes, clutch and be beliw 10 mph and sure enough there goes the fuse. I stoped from a 6 mile run at a stop sign!
(No fuses a nice cager gave me a ride into town and back) Bought 2 packs of fuses!
I changed fuses then drove it to a turn and stoped, it died changed fuse Decided to drive it back home stoped to turn it died changed fuse
Didnt have to stop until I got it in front of the house and it died Changed fuse! Undecided

Seems to me that if you quit stopping, you can keep going. Huh

Check for shorts in your brake circuits.

Try using one brake only at a time and see if it repeats, That would narrow down the circuit to look at.

And it could be a short between 2 wires, such as a short between the front brake switch and the clutch safety. Or the rear brake and neutral safety.

Remember, when stopping the bke is shifting weight. Front end dropping. That moves wires around.

Replace the fuse and turn on the key. Position yourself down by the brake lever and push it down. If it is the switch, it will spark when it blows.

Get as far into the light as you can. It's cheap and power to the lights go trhu there.... and it's a know wear thru point.
