2003 yamaha raptor 660 petcock fits

fuelcock part # 5 Lp-24500-01-00
$20.89 from bike bandit plus shipping. it's a direct bolt on.
comes with o-ring.
not as pretty as the original part.
no vacuum line needed.
has on, off and reserve.
must manually turn off.
the nice thing is this petcock doesn't go under the tank towards center of the bike nearly as much as OEM so taking the tank off and on won't be such a tight fit.

It's worth $20-ish just to not have to drain my tank to get it off. Not worrying about the vacuum line is just gravy.

That's going to be a great help to a lot of people. Mines already converted, but I may consider the change just for easy tank removal.
Thanks

thanks everyone but the real KUDOS should go to DR 1445
He is the one who remembered that his friend did this mod and I just followed his suggestion.
by the way I took it apart and got some comparison pics of it next to the oem petcock. I was right about the tank coming off real easy.
now where was that post about how to post pics ?
never mind that !
who will pm me with their email adress and i will send the folder containing the pics as an attachment and then that nice person can upload the pics to this site.
anybody ?

glad it worked out for you savage folks, it works great for the dr650 to. my friend measured the the reserve by drawing down the tank and came up with 42 oz"s. that should be only around 13 miles on reserve. so you might want to check that out.

42 oz's .... approx 1/3 gallon. Current is 0.6 gallon (over 1/2 but under 2/3), which would give a little more mileage before swithing to reserve, but cut the "got to find gas" distance in half ......
Hmmmmmm ... wonder if there is a way to raise the "on" pickup tube.
