Ive searched for any and all terms I can think of that would bring up results for suspension, rear shocks, etc. but have not found any definitive answer to my questions. So here goes

Im assuming HD 412's can be used. Do the shocks have to be the metric version or can the others be used? If Im using the HD 412's (11") what exactly am I gunna have to modify/replace/substitute.

I know sounds like a dumb query thats been gone over a million times but I want to be certain Im not wasting $180 just to be forced to spend another $300.

This shock is ok for me, but if I wanted to go 2 up I'd want a heavier set 412-4022's maybe.

Progressive shocks are made with generic size mount holes top and bottom. They use inserts to match assorted size bike mounts and those inserts can be purchased seperately if needed.

When I installed my 412-4005 shocks on my Savage, I had the standard bushings milled out to fit the studs on my bike. The mistake I made was not having the bushings recoated (annodized, painted or anything like that.) They began to rust near the end of summer.

I think you're better off buying the shocks, then ordering the metric bushings from Progressive suspension.

sounds like you're buying new shocks not used ones - if that is the case just order the correct ones in the first place -

Soft Ride 11" 412-4232C 90/130lb
Standard 11" 412-4233C 115/155lb
Standard 11.5" 412-4201C 115/155lb
Heavy Duty 11.5" 412-4236C 125/170lb
