I was leaving a friends house & talking, getting dressed for the ride, still talking, fired it up, something didnt feel right & it died & restarted by itself, did it again & I slapped the Off switch. The start button had jammed & had the starter engaged, so, if your trusty steed feels wierd after a start, give it a thought.

I'll bet that starter motor adds another 2 horsepower at least.  I use it as a "turbo boost" when passing Ferraris and Lotuses (Lotai?).

Hmmmm  do you have you clutch lever switch bypassed??  I vaguely remember you had issues where you added a small start switch somewhere.....  I think that was you...    

If so, un-bypass it until you can fix the spring.    That will stop the Decompress timer/controller from firing the starter.
