This might sound crazy...

Just got done with a 12 hour shift at work and had to ride home in the rain (15 miles). Everytime I ride in the rain, a chirping noise comes from what seems to be the left side mirror. It only happens when the road is wet, and it chirps louder when accelerating. Is this just me?

I translated the chirping this morning and the bike was telling me to take the cage next time they call for rain. I'll be cleaning and polishing tomorrow.

Try some beeswax on the belt. Heard it works well to silence that little bird.....

Yep, it's the belt. did the beeswax cure and it worked great. Got a lifetime suppy at the Michaels arts and crafts store fo $20
I now carry a small brick of beswax in my tool kit and apply when required. It is a very annoying squeek abnd am so releived to not have to hear it any more

The only problem with multiple applications of beeswax is the buildup of sticky residue on the belt, which can get gritty and cause wear.
I found I only got squeaks when the belt was a little tight. I loosened the adjuster bolts by one turn each and haven't had it happen since then. The 90 degree twist test seems very accurate, before I loosened it a bit the belt would twist to about 80 degrees and now its on 90 it's all peaceful again!

When the birdy starts chirping at me, I just shoot it with my .22, as for the belt, I spray canola oil on it being careful not to get it on the tire.

You may also want to try and re-align the wheel, mine chirped and we tracked it down to a miss-aligned wheel and IT WORKED
no more belt squeel
