Hi! I am a new member and a new Savage owner! I have reassembled and modified my bike and I need only the starter gears. The gears new cost more than i have in the bike so if anyone has either one, especially the pinion please reply or contact me at 662-397-9996. I will post pics of my chopper soon. Thanks Yall!

Your best bet would be to find a salvage yard.    There is a difference in the early year bikes verse the newer bikes.

There was a set just on eBay.

I have tried every salvage yard I can locate, in nearly every state. None have had ANY parts for the Savage or S40. The set on ebay was for a 2002 and had the limiter on the pinion, I could make it work with some machining but really don't want to. I think I might just make a kick starter for it! Thanks for the help!

Larry's Cycle in Richlandtown, Pa has a 88 or 87 with no head ( I got that.)

Ebay user : larrys6958

see: http://myworld.ebay.com/larrys6958/

The bike was a blue LS650.  Fairly rusty from sitting in the yard.  When I picked up the head , he said the head bolts were only finger tight.  He said if he had known he would have pulled the head from the other Savage he had.
