Footpeg vibration question
08/23/08 at 19:41:59

I ride on a piece of road here in N.H. where people really like you to move. Al from NH should know the stretch on 28 through Alton. Anyhow, when I reach about 70 mph, my right footpeg vibrates in an annoying and ticklish way.  Shocked It is a new bike so it's not loose or worn or anything. Any remedies?

Dealers never hire inexperienced people to assemble bike.

I'd check it anyway, 50 ft-lbs.

Try heavier socks and good boots.

Either speed up to 75 or slow down to 60. Wink Strange though, mine vibrated crazily at 65. Mine is 06 with less than 5,000 on her

The bolts that hold the footpegs are also engine mount bolts. Any 'looseness' at all will increase the vibration in the foot pegs. Follow the torque specs to the high side and it will eliminate most of the vibes. Know from experience when messing with my Dyna muffler installation. Thought they were tight!! Where did the vibes come from???

I don't know the answer to your vibration question. I also have a problem between 65 and 70 mph on my 2005. Usually though, by the time I reach that speed, my feet are up on the highway pegs and I can't feel the vibes very much at all. And I know the stretch of rt.28 that you are talking about. I was on it yesterday on my way to and from Wolfbobo.

Those gel shoe pads from wal-mart might help.
