I just looked at the wiring diagrams....  need more info  Sad.

The wires should have a little strip also.  That is important to tell you what is disconnected.  Also, need to know what year the bike is because they changed some of the wire colors around.

It looks like on most of the years, the Kill switch may be more of a Turn-off-power-to-the-ignition swtich.  Many bikes use the kill to ground out the ignition.....  

NOTE: The Factory Serv manual is slightly better than the clymer in that it used text to tell you the color, where on the clymer you need may need a magnifing glass to see the strip (also know as a trace) color.  Sorry, my FSM is on a shelf at home......
