At 3K after the rebuild,  the tapping got loud enough when warmed up to here while wearing my 3/4 helmet and with other background noise.

Inspected the valve clearence and it was between .005 and .006 on the exh valves.  One more than the other.

Adjusted between .003 and .004 and now only hear it with helmet off and little background noise.
