Sorry about the long url.
They seem a bit pricey but they also look like they would be decent looking mod.

They look exactly like the ones on page 1-28 of the JirehCycle catalog, $12.95 plus S&H.

I think if you bolted them to the sides of your helmet in the position shown in the photo, they would look really cool. You can bet your boots people would notice that!

Keep in mind that these may not be DOT approved. If you are in a state where they require inspections you might fail due to them.

They certainly look like they could double as a pasenger grab bar.
They are directed straight to the rear, I would like them if they were kicked to the side abit for side visability. Or domed.

I do not know of any State regulation that requires a vehicle to have DOT approved equipment on it. DOT is Federal and claim authority over what can be sold thru interstate commerce. What is legal for use on a vehicle depends upon State law -- and the States generally only require you meet performance limits, how you do so doesn't matter.

I'm holding out for the swirling yellow light to mount on the top of my helmet.

I just researched this for someone else, although they weren't in New Mexico. Some state regulations merely state that the equipment must meet DOT requirements. As I recall, the item in question at that time was a turn signal.

I know here they are a bit iffy on signals.. There is no requirement for them but they are quite adamant that a bike have them if it is of a certain timeframe.
