Lights turn on, decomp solenoid activates, but the starter won't turn. The starter solenoid just buzzes. Any suggestions? It is in neutral and I pull in the clutch, as well as have to kill switch in the "on" position.

On a Savage, I don't know. Man, you are having a rough go of this.

I'm thinking it just may be the battery. After all I kill it several times trying to start it up previously and may have wiped it out. Though I have refilled the water level and have had it on the charger. On the charger now in fact. We'll see I reckon in a little while.

That's an understatement to say the least. Just tried to jump it from my daughter's car, I got it to spin over, so it probably is the battery. We'll see what happens after a little while on the charger.

It probably won't start the bike, but it'll make me feel better about grabbing Kay's exhaust pipes on the GZ250. Good luck. Sandy

Can't get daughter to do that, she's in jail for beating up her ex-husband.

Battery would be the 1st guess, but...

check the ground to the engine and check the starter switch.

ps... my method of push starting, put her in 1st, clutch in, push her as fast as you can go, starter button, after 1 rev pop clutch, if you still have all the safeties, no need to worry about starter button. as soon as you let out clutch starter deactivated.

Been there,done that.
That's ok,couple weeks ago had a flat on the '86.I had another wheel/tire leaning against the bike with a jack underneath it,had a guy say"you have a flat on the rear".Had to say it,nope,front tire swelled up from the heat.This is at an aviation school mind you.Scary.

(imagine me scratching my head in bewilderment) By the way, it was the ground wire.
