battery short

I had just bought a new battery six months ago and tonight, it shorted out while I was on the road. Brought it home, put a trickle on it and the needle just flatlined after 3 seconds. I'll replace the battery, but was wondering if anybody else had a sim problem so I know what to expect. (2002 savage 56Kmiles)

What kind of battery is it?

A friend of mine kept having problems with her battery/battery's,bought a better type of battery and quit having problems. Although that shouldn't make sense....LOL.

I kept wondering why she was having the problem in the first place.

Its a Mangna Power - It would have made a lot more sense if the fuse blew, but it didn't.  I hooked the leads up to a portable booster and the bike started up fine so there's no short in the system- strange

I am having a problem with mine also. They say my battery is good!
But it still loses the charge and has to be recharged frequently.

Not sure what the problem is either. Sorry, maybe someone will know though.Hopefully!!
