Questions for the Bobbers

Haven't used the site for quite some time now, seen some WICKED looking bikes now that I'm back.

I've got about 17K miles on my '05 now... Think I'm gonna bob it out. But the vision I have presents a couple questions:

I saw a couple bikes that rigged up sporty tanks to work. Is there a thread somewhere explaining that mod?

I also would like to still have the possibility of going 2 up, even after bobbing the fender (the lady loves the bike). Are any of those tractor fenders strong enough to support a suction cup pillion pad and a
girlfriend?

How are you guys riggin up your electronics? A thread on that anywhere?

I work at a Harley dealership and would LOVE to bring in the thumper with a nice new makeover for less than a months payment on a Road King.

The Sporty tank isn't to hard,if you have a welder available.If not there is another way.
First off take a look at the pic.The front mount is what's called a connector nut.It's about 2" long with 3/8ths threads.I ground it down to fit between the tank mounts.Bolted it on(to the mounts),then since my stock Savage tank was junk,I cut the rear mount off.Welded it to the back of the tank for the rear mount,bolted it to the stock location then welded the front mount to the frame.I did move the petc0ck from the right side of the tank to the left.Some Sporty tanks have different locations.

The only electrics I had to modify was the regulator.I mounted it right above the starter solenoid,on the fender.

I got them from a local bike shop in Dallas.The front was 35 bucks,the rear was 20 or 30.The springs,and parts were about 20 bucks. The front mounting point actually bolts right to the stock rear gas tank mount.The bracket for the springs I made out of a flat bar 1/8X1 1/2X 7 1/2. Welded 2 tabs on to bolt to the stock fender mounting holes.
Update strangeling has a seat for sale in the marketplace 25+5 s/h good deal.
