Need a couple of Ideas.

I took the rear tail light off of my bike because I installed a LED 3D skull cat light and a license plate mount off the axle. Now I have those holes left in the rear fender and where the taillight rubbed through the paint a little bit. I am looking for some ideas that are pretty cheap and easy. I am going to Sturgis so most of my money is being saved for that right now. When I get back I am going to be putting a whole different fender on the rear. I thought about a decal of some sort but I don't think that would really look that great. I'd really like to make a diamond plate piece to put back there to cover that area up but it is SO expensive. I might get some stainless steel from work and try to see what I can get to work with that. What are some things that you guys have done?

Excuse the cell phone pics.

Diamond plate would look cool.  I remember seeing a diamond plate decal at a store, I think it was Pep Boys.  Did a search and I found this online.

I think some plastic hole plugs would work, the hard part is finding some with the exact fit for the holes.  I know they sell packs of hole plugs for Vespa scooters for when you take the sidemarker lights off.  Just a thought!   Undecided

I wouldn't mind using a decal as long as it was hard enough to not sink into the holes so I might have to see if I can find some of that diamond plate looking stuff here in town. What makes it really hard is my bike is kept at my dads in the garage 11 miles away Sad. I'd like to know about how far apart the top holes are from the bottom, I think a Maltese cross would look good there too. I'm just not sure how big I need to get.

Also the paint got rubbed pretty bad so it would need to cover the area where that happened as well. Ugh to stupid short term fixes anyhow lol.

Here's what I did. The cases are sawn-off 56-50 Spencer and glued in with epoxy.

Yeah that is a really cool idea, I really like that. The paint looks too bad on mine for something like that, maybe it will come out a little with some light sanding. Thanks for sharing that!
